On July 8, the opening ceremony of the “Online Training Program on the Prevention and Control of Cross-Border Spread of Infectious Diseases for Lancang-Mekong Countries” was successfully held via video link. Deputy Director General Hu Lan attended the opening ceremony and made welcoming remarks, and representatives of participants from the five Mekong countries spoke at the ceremony. This training program is hosted by the Department of International Cooperation of GACC and undertaken by Jiangsu Inspection and Quarantine Institute of Quality of Nanjing Customs District. Participants include officials from Lancang-Mekong countries in relevant fields. It aims to improve the border health and quarantine capabilities of Lancang-Mekong countries through online lectures and discussions, strengthen their capabilities of infectious disease testing and emergency response, reduce the risk of cross-border spread of infectious diseases, and promote the safety of personnel exchanges.
