Customs sanitary inspection on the ship
On the evening of February 24, the cargo ship “Gang Tong No.6” left Yueyang Port (Hunan Province) for Hong Kong SAR under the control of Changsha Customs District. This ship, with 48 TEUs/314 tons of local products, ran eastward along the Yangtze river to the sea and would reach Hong Kong in 10 days, marking the resumption of Hunan-Hong Kong water transport.
Yueyang is a river port of national first class in Hunan Province. In support of the transport to Hong Kong, Changsha Customs made a special plan, with anti-epidemic measures and onboard inspection exercised in advance; the Customs conducted strict sanitary inspection on the ship, issuing the “Certificate on Ship Exemption from Health Control”; it also cooperated with local government agencies in joint security control.
The direct transport from Yueyang to Hong Kong, compared with relay transport in the past, can save 4 days and reduce clearance procedures and logistics cost, facilitating Hunan’s exports.
