On July 6th, 2021, the 5th Meeting of China-ASEAN Technical Working Groups (TWGs) on Animal Inspection and Quarantine, Plant Inspection and Quarantine, and Food Safety was held through video links. The meeting was co-chaired by representatives of the International Cooperation departments of GACC and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Cambodia. During the meeting, both sides jointly reviewed the implementation progress of the Action Plan for 2019-2020, discussed on the development of the Action Plan for 2022-2023 and the new MOU on SPS cooperation, updated the preparation of the 7th China-ASEAN Contact Points Meeting, and agreed on GACC’s sponsorship of the 6th TWGs Meeting in 2023. In addition, the Chinese representative presented the upgraded version of the China-ASEAN SPS cooperation information website. And the 3 technical working groups also conducted in-depth discussions on specific topics of common concerns. Representatives from the Department of Animal and Plant Quarantine, Bureau of Import and Export Food Safety, Department of International Cooperation, Research Center for International Inspection and Quarantine Standards and Technical Regulations of GACC as well as Nanning Customs District attended the meeting.
