On September 24, Ms. HU Lan, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Cooperation, General Administration of Customs of China, attended the World Customs Organization’s high-level online event on “Women in Customs”. As one of the panelists, Ms. HU Lan shared her views on the important role of smart technologies and digital solutions for the development of women in both Customs and the trade community and the advantages that Customs obtains when fostering gender equality, which was well received by the participants. Gender equality is a hot issue widely discussed in the WCO and the entire international community, and has been emphasized by China Customs in its own development. In the future, China Customs will continue its active participation in WCO’s activities on promoting gender equality and diversity, and make contribution to the inclusive development of the international Customs community.
